1886 Liberty Head Twenty Dollar Coin Engraving
August 12, 1886, Engraving of the Liberty Head Twenty Dollar Coin on the Invitation to the "Banquet to the American Bankers Association," Printed by John A. Lowell & Co., Boston, MA, Choice Very Fine.
This decorative invitation features engraved Liberty Head images on the cover of two hinged, thick cards, 7.5" x 6.75", with ivory satin decorative bow and loose ivory satin ties along the right side. Front cover features depictions of the obverse and the reverse of Liberty Head coins, with "life-size" Liberty Head and Double Eagles depicted; centered on the back of this unused card invitation is an engraving of Liberty advancing, armed, with an eagle. The inside of the invitation has printed text: "The Banks and Bankers of Boston request the pleasure of your company at the banquet given to the American Bankers Association at the Park House on Thursday Evening, August 12th, 1886, at half past seven o'clock. Executive Committee. Asa P. Potter. Thomas P. Beal. Charles O. Billings. Thomas A. Hart." Some toning to cardstock and ribbons, scrapbooking adhesive remnants along spine; else fine. Very sturdy make; with beautifully engraved images that are bright and bold.
