Pennsylvania CurrencyExtremely Rare Uncut Strip of Four August 6, 1789 Notes
(Pennsylvania) August 6, 1789. Bank of North America. Uncut Vertical Strip of 4 Notes. (1) Marbled Reverse Three Ninetieths and (3) One Ninetieth of a Dollar. Plates A-A-E-I. Crisp to Choice Uncirculated.
This vertical strip includes the rare and colorful "Marbled" reverse $3/90, Plate A, at top, which is in Choice Uncirculated quality. There is some slight soiling along the fold below, which is in-between the next note, and (3) $1/90 notes printed in black ink, Plate Letters A, E & I. The plate "E" note has some reddish rust stains upon the left side of the reverse with some show-through to the face and has a touch to tone at right, and is otherwise Crisp Uncirculated. The plate "I" note is choice. Each note has a horizontal fold in between, separating each individual note and not touching any of the printed designs. An outstanding rarity, the only such strip we have ever offered, now once again available for bidding. A wonderful addition to any significant Colonial currency or rarity collection. Four valuable notes is an exceedingly rare original Uncut Strip. Ex: EAHA Auction, June 7, 1997, Lot 329, where it sold for $2,532. (4 note strip)
