Collection of Six Different Harvard College Lottery Tickets, Pre-Revolutionary War to The War of 1812 Period.
1. Province of Massachusetts Bay. July 13, 1772. "Boston, Harvard-College Lottery" Ticket. Choice Extremely Fine. Lottery granted by an "Act of the General Court of the Province of the Massachusetts-Bay for the building of another Hall for the Use of the students of Harvard-College." Original tab at right still fully intact, as this ticket remained unissued, with traces of old red wax hinges on the blank reverse and a small internal deft sealed split. A very attractive, boldly printed ticket and extremely scarce, specially so nice.

2. Massachusetts, Boston. July 1811. "Harvard College Lottery" Ticket. Sixth Class. Good, Split, needing repair. This lottery ticket is evenly toned with small edge chinks out of the top margin and lower right corner tip missing and split in half along the left quarter section. Printed by Hillard & Metcalf. Very Scarce.

3-6. (Massachusetts) 1811-12, Four Different "Harvard College Lottery" Tickets. Class 2, 5, 6 & 7, Very Fine to About Uncirculated. Includes: (3) issued tickets and (1) remainder, the 5th Class being slightly torn at top with a small piece out of the left and upper border design, not affecting any text. All four are nicely printed.
