Page 3 has an account of national reaction to the election of Thomas Jefferson as President (joyous) and a notice of the publication of Jefferson's "A Manuel of Parliamentary Practice, For the use of the Senate of the United States." Of great importance to coin collectors and numismatic researchers is the publication, on page 4, of the Mint Director's report for the year 1801, plus the results of an assay by Joseph Richardson that showed the value of Spanish gold doubloons to be less than that specified by law. Great numismatic content.
