Personally Owned Book by Victor David Brenner
1909, "Biographical Dictionary of Medallists" Compiled by L. Forrer, Previously Owned by David Brenner, Published by Spink & Son Ltd., London, Very Fine.
This item is a Biographical Dictionary of Medalist's, Coin-, Gem- and Seal-Engravers, &c. Ancient and Modern with References To Their Works, B.C. 500 - A.D. 1900. Printed in London, England by Spink & Son, Ltd., 1909, Vol. IV only. This is from the original limited edition of only 300 copies, and comes from the library of Victor David Brenner, 1871-1924, a Lithuanian-born American sculptor and designer of the Lincoln one cent coin first issued in 1909. Brenner's bookplate is affixed to the front endpaper: "Ex Libris: Victor D. Brenner." There is some wear to the corners, and the front cover has been expertly reattached. Unfortunately, the back cover is loose, but this small defect does not interfere with the nearly flawless spine. An extremely desirable book for the specialist in numismatic literature.
