"W.F. Cody" Buffalo Bill Signed Letter & Mailing Envelope

WILLIAM F. "BUFFALO BILL" CODY.
November 17, 1910, Typed Letter Signed, "W.F. Cody," in gray-black ink, on "Buffalo Bill's Wild West Combined with Pawnee Bill's Great Far East" letterhead, Camden, Arkansas, measuring 11" x 8.5" along with its original postmarked envelope, Fine. Buffalo Bill signs this form letter certifying that "John S. Hill" was employed by Cody and Pawnee Bill "during the past season and has performed all duties assigned to him in a satisfactory manner." This is an original matched set of materials that reflects the expansion of Buffalo Bill's outfit to include other performers and stars such as "Pawnee Bill." The letter has normal folds and minor wear. The envelope, which has a portrait logo and masthead featuring both Buffalo Bill and Pawnee Bill, is postmarked March 5, 1912, from Oracle, Arizona, and is addressed to Mr. J S Hill of Oak Park Illinois. Envelope is torn along the right edge, where it was opened, but is otherwise complete and attractive. (2 items)
