Quality 1803 Dated Thomas Jefferson and James Madison Signed Land Grant on Vellum Document

Choice Quality, Partly Printed Document Signed, "Th: Jefferson," as President, and "James Madison," as Secretary of State, on a Land Grant on vellum, April 22, 1803, Washington, D.C., 14" x 12", framed to 16.75" x 14.75", Choice Very Fine. Completed in manuscript, this clean and impressive looking, larger size land grant is laid down on mat board. It features very neat light-brown writing and the firm, clean signatures by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. Normal light folds, having a beautiful large paper Seal of the President of the United States at lower left. John Graham, an assignee of Robert Means and Benjamin Hoomes, a Captain in the Army, receives 800 acres situated "between the Little Miami and the Sciota Rivers," northwest of the Ohio River. A very nice display item with a clean appearance and excellent signatures. Ex: EAHA Auction, December 7, 2002, Lot 132, where it sold for $6,325.
