"Cole Porter" Signed Photograph Taken by Hal Phyfe
COLE PORTER, Famous American Composer, Songwriter of "Night and Day," "I've Got You Under My Skin," & 20th Century Broadway Musicals.
Undated, Black and White Photograph Signed, "Cole Porter," 7" x 5," Choice Near Mint. This professional studio portrait of a fairly young Cole Porter was taken by the famous New York City photographer, Hal Phyfe (1892-1968), whose name is embossed at the bottom of the photograph, and whose stamp appears on the back of the photo. Phyfe opened his first studio in 1926 at 7th and Madison (probably same location as the address on the back), and remained there until about 1950, when he moved to 980-990 Madison Avenue. This photograph was likely taken in the 1930s, at the height of Cole Porter's career. A great signed photo!
