This rare form is popular as being payable in funds based against a basket of commodities to retain its value, such as Corn, Beef, Sheepswool and Sole Leather, etc. Authorized to cover the depreciation of pay soldiers received while serving in the Continental line. Dawes, Cranch and Gardner. Well printed in dark black on quality laid paper with some light overall soiling.
