Superb Miniature Painting of George Washington

c. 1820, George Washington Miniature Painting, American Artist, "W. Richard," Choice Extremely Fine.
This authentic, fully original and beautiful Miniature Painting of George Washington is highly detailed with superb execution. The image is oval in shape, measuring 6.25" high x 5" wide. This exact image is after the famous painting by John Trumbull of General Washington at Trenton, which Trumbull originally painted in 1792. The current artist has Signed his name on the cannon wheel, "W. Richard fecit". The thin wafer has two previously taped splits from the blank reverse which is not seen when displayed or if housed. The colors are intense and this painting is absolutely beautiful with the magnificent detail as found in John Trumbull's original artwork.
