1860 Lincoln & Hamlin Presidential Campaign Cover
c. 1860, Postal-Used Abraham Lincoln & Hannibal Hamlin Campaign Cover, Choice Very Good.
This is an elaborately printed, 1860 campaign cover, bearing a bust portrait of a beardless Lincoln beside a vignette of "The Rail Splitter" at right busy splitting rails. Beneath the vignette is the caption: "'Constitution and the Union -- Harmony and prosperity to all.' LINCOLN." Addressed to Cornish Flat, NH, the cover bears a black circular Woodstock, VT postmark. Some scattered rust colored discoloration does little to detract from this detailed print. [Reference: Milgram AL-89.]
