President Andrew Johnson Impeachment Trial Ticket
April 14, 1868, Engraved Admission Ticket to the Gallery of the United States Senate for the Impeachment Trial of President Andrew Johnson, Very Fine.
This original Admission ticket measures 3" x 3.5" and is printed on heavy, light tan card stock and was apparently used, as there is no left side stub. The text is printed in red/orange ink and reads: "U. S. Senate - Impeachment of the President - Admit The Bearer - April 14th, 1868 - Gallery" and is signed in print by the Sergeant at Arms, George F. Brown. The Ticket is for Impeachment proceedings in the Senate Chamber taking place on April 14, 1868. There is a vertical crease through the center, but this item will still display well. An impressive, colorful example of this very historic and monumental American political event.
