Two Rare 1890 "Abraham Lincoln" Vignetted Republican National Committee Printed Items
Two Republican National Committee Receipts dated 1890.
1. January 1, 1890, Republican National Committee Receipt, Superb Crisp Uncirculated. 3.25 x 11.5," printed in black and gold on pink paper by the Homerlee Banknote Company. Unissued and still attached to the printed portion retained by the Committee once the receipt was filled out. The lower left side features a very nice vignette of Lincoln. This is a beautiful piece that is quite suitable for framing and display. Ex: EAHA Auction, October 13, 2001, Lot 620, where it sold for $460.
2. 1890, Republican National Committee, $10 Contributor Receipt Note, Gem Crisp Uncirculated. A well engraved product from the Homer Lee Banknote imprint. Printed on light pink paper with yellow tint. Lincoln at the left. A superb looking receipt form that certainly mimics currency well. Ex: EAHA Auction, February 9, 2002, Lot 697, where it sold for $287.
