This handsome, uncolored lithograph of "La Fayette" measures 14.75" x 12", and is laid-down on a sheet measuring 17.25" x 13.5", with heavy dampstaining, light stains, scuffing, and some rumpled edges--but the bright image of La Fayette in military jacket, ruffled shirt front, and fur-ringed coat is still attractive. The plate was lithographed by one of the Senefelder brothers. It was published Nov. 25, 1826, in the same "Livrasion" as two other lithographs depicting "Le général Bernadotte" and "Joachim Murat". It is a striking portrait of General Lafayette with a wreath embracing the major battles in which he participated. Perfect for framing and display.
