Fabulous "Grover Cleveland" Head Handle Bamboo Cane
c. 1884, Bamboo Walking Stick or Cane with a "Grover Cleveland" Head Handle, Choice Very Fine.
This is a 35" long cane with a bamboo shaft bearing a 2" pewter bust of Grover Cleveland on the handle. The cane bears some pitting to bust with usual wear to shaft including scratches and paint marks. A wonderful "Grover Cleveland" political collectable.
Grover Cleveland is the only President to serve two non-consecutive terms. He was first elected in 1884, and again in 1892. He was also one of only two men to enter the White House as a bachelor (Buchanan being the other). Cleveland married Frances Folsom on June 2, 1886 in a ceremony in the White House.
