1960, (2) John F. Kennedy "PT-109" Campaign Pins, Choice Very Fine.
These two original campaign pins are in the shape of Kennedy's famous PT boat that was cut in two by a Japanese warship in 1943. The first is a 1960 silver toned "ladies pin" and measures 2" x .25". The second pin is a smaller version of the first, in a gold tone, and measures 1.75" x .25". Both pins bear the slogan on the bow, "KENNEDY 60". Accompanied by a March 15, 2001 letter of provenance from Mary B. Gallagher who served as John F. Kennedy's secretary from 1953 to1956, and Jacqueline Kennedy's secretary from 1956 to 1964. She writes that she obtained the pins "...from Frank Allen, New York, N.Y..." Extremely Rare.
