1916, REO Motor Car Company Stock Certificate, 25 Shares, Michigan, Extremely Fine.
This attractive olive and black printed Certificate has Serial No. L0347, measures 8.5" x 12.5", and is Signed "R E Olds" in black ink as president of the company. It is a nice signature, with a punch cancel affecting the middle initial of the signature. Exceptional and Rare signature by the inventor who produced the first "horseless carriage"! (According to the current Sanders Autograph Price Guide, a Document Signed by R.E. Olds lists for a value of $1,235.)
Ransom E. Olds (1864-1950) was an automobile manufacturer who helped innovate the Detroit industry. In 1904 he organized the REO Motor Car Co.
