Circa 1925, serial number 239529, further marked ''D / 4169'', with squared tapering legs ending in spade feet on casters, together with an associated ebonized bench and a piano shawl, 40'' H x 56.5'' W x 81'' D, est:$15,000/20,000. Provenance: Purchased by the present owner's family from Lyon & Healy, Chicago, IL, 19 March 1929. Thence by descent. Property from an Estate, Sun City, AZ.
Condition report
Well maintained. Keyboard mechanism is sound and stable. Pin block in excellent condition. Stable tuning. Action is slightly stiff - medium to moderately heavy, but good. Plays well and loudly. Good sound. Keys consistent. Re-strung and re-finished within the last 10-20 years. With a few hairline cracks to soundboard. The two larger are separations of individual planks that make up the soundboard. With some further smaller surface hairline cracks (do not go through). Exterior in very good condition. Some minor marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. A few minor hairline cracks to outside keys. Associated bench with a bit more wear (18.25 x 36 x 15''). With original purchase receipt, 1972 restoration receipt and with older classical sheet music and other ephemera. Shawl with some wear.
