Two with Ancien Regime marks, Paris, 1781-1789, with maker's marks '"JSN'' and ''PGF'', two unmarked, each of typical form, with circular lid above an urn-form body, with bail handle, on foliate scroll feet, the marked pair with a single coat of arms under a five point crown, the unmarked pair with a double coat of arms under a five point crown, 4 pcs, the two marked pots, 3.25'' H x 3.25'' W x 2.75'' D, 8.75 oz tw approximately, est:$600/900. Note: A set of twelve related pots, circa 1900 by Ferdinand Erhart, of matching form, also bearing armorials, sold New Orleans Auction Gallery, 19 May 2007, lot 207 ($17,400). Provenance: Property of a Private Collector, New York City.
Condition report
Weight of unmarked pots: 9 oz tw approximately. Form and decoration of all consistent. General marks, scratches, rubbing and slight tarnishing overall. With some dings and small dents to bodies. All with numerous pin size dings to bottoms.
