Color lithograph. 1953. Print #1 of edition of 5. Signed and titled in pencil, lower left; dated and numbered in pencil, lower right. 24 x 32 in. (610 x 813 mm). Sheet Size: 25 1/8 x 34 1/4 in. (638 x 870 mm). His work evolved through a number of styles, from abstraction to non-objective, from funk to realism. His early paintings were composed of larger, overlapping, amorphous shapes in bright colors. The early prints were not as colorful and were characterized by "Motherwellian" blacks. DeForest's early prints appear to have been issued in very small editions, if editioned at all, and undoubtedly are very rare.
