Comments: Each of these prints is after the painting by the same artist. The artist resided in Lebanon Tennessee and was an important student of the region's history. The artist was commissioned by a number of cities to sculp Civil War monuments for public spaces. The artist's untimely death before editioning prevented them from being publicized and distributed in the normal way. He received classical training in Argentina and has hundreds of pieced in permanent collections in museums throughout the world in such places as the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American Art and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C. Ayoroa lived and worked in Bolivia, Argentina, Washington, D.C. and made Kentucky his final home. His love for Kentucky and his fascination with the Civil War inspired him to complete a series of 30 paintings, including one of the Battle of Perryville. His Civil War works also include a statue of Union General George H. Thomas, who recruited troops in Lebanon, KY, where the statue now stands, and famed Confederate raider General John Hunt Morgan. ,
