LEON-ALEXANDRE DELHOMME (FR., 1841-1895), BRONZE MEDALLIONS, TWO, DIA 8 3/4", VOLTAIRE & ROUSSEAU:Each circular portrait medallion features the profile of Voltaire or Jean-Jacques Rousseau in relief, signed and dated 1879 at the neck, illegible foundry name on the reverse, possibly "Thiebaud & Fils", medium brown patina, in matching circular beveled wood frames. Provenance, both purchased in Paris, 1939.
Condition report
The Voltaire medallion with a small spot of green oxidation at the head, otherwise bronze appears to be in good condition; wood frames are cracked and repaired (evident in photo). Chs
