by Timothy O'Sullivan, Spotsylvania, Va., May 19, 1864. Poignant image of a dead Confederate soldier laying next to his musket. Paper labels state "By the specially authorized photographers, M.B. Brady and Alexander Gardner", who O'Sullivan worked with. Hand written label at the bottom identifies the image as well. This large piece, which measures 11" X 14", was printed c. 1880's, being similar to the Taylor & Huntington Civil War series. The image is in excellent condition, the mount has some light edge wear. Overall an excellent example of a rare Civil War image.
