[Set 21] - Roman Arena Display Superset, circa, 1950, comprising: 8 x Roman Gladiators on foot with [round] shields & swords [one with old repair to ankle], 2 x Chariot Drivers with [string] Whips, 2 x two horse "Briga" type Chariots, 2 x Lions [small version], Snow Leopard [small version], Tiger [standard version] & Leopard [standard version]. Some minor paint chips otherwise generally Excellent overall, contained [re-strung on original insert] in a generally Good to Very Good [extensive repairs to one lid corner, old repairs to extremities & small stain to top label] "Johillco" blue, black, yellow & white label display set box, end label reads: "Johillco Roman Arena Superset, Ref: Q.V.S." Rare format, this being the first example of this impressive display set to be offered for sale by Vectis.
