Exceptionally Fine Painted Zuni Jar 4 ½" high, old tag inside piece states "PRE-HISTORIC From the ruins of the ancient city of Cibola in New Mexico and visited by Spanish explorer Coronad… in 1540.". highly boss reliefed around edge with rope and spiral type design, as well as painted birds and corn?. Inside of jar lip/rim is also paintedOld catalog number is also present. Absolutely no restoration, with only a minor crack toneck. An exceptionally fine piece with impeccable history.
