Ferrari caused a sensation at the 1965 Paris Salon by introducing one of the most dramatic designs of all time, the V-6 Dino 206S show car. For 1966 Ferrari built a prototype V-6 production car, the Dino 206 GT Berlinetta, which was first displayed at the Turin Motor Show and finally released to the public in 1968. Production of the Dino 206 GT was so limited that almost all sold within Italy, with very few escaping to other parts of the world.
The Ferrari Dino’s ultimate evolution was the 246 series launched in 1969. The lovely V-6 was enlarged to 2,418cc and the power increased to 195bhp, offering exhilarating performance with a top speed approaching 150mph. Handling was both nimble and forgiving, cementing the Dino’s reputation as a superlative driver’s car. However it is the ageless and purposeful beauty of this landmark Pininfarina design for which the Dino is most justifiably famous. Nearly 3,800 246 Dinos were built in the years spanning 1969 to 1974; 2,476 of these were GT coupé versions.
The striking UK specification Dino offered here is a late production example in impressive original condition. The brilliant Rosso Chiaro livery is from the factory as is the black vinyl upholstery. With only three registered owners and 39,900 miles from new, the car has benefited from a recent major service, which included refurbishment of the braking, suspension and cooling systems. The chassis and engine bay have been comprehensively detailed and the carpets and dashboard have been replaced. Original-type Cromodora wheels are new and are mounted with fresh rubber.
Presented with factory genuine fit and finish, the presence and driveability of this Dino is nearly impossible to duplicate via ground-up restoration. As such it would fine addition to any collection of original Ferraris.

Al Salone di Parigi del 1965, la Ferrari fece scalpore presentando una vettura con uno dei design più sorprendenti di tutti i tempi, la show car Dino 206S V6. Per il salone del 1966 Ferrari costruì un prototipo V-6, la Dino 206 GT Berlinetta, che fu prima esposta al Motor Show di Torino e infine lanciata sul mercato nel 1968. La produzione della Dino 206 GT fu talmente limitata che quasi tutte furono vendute all’interno dei confini italiani, con pochissime eccezioni nelle altre parti del mondo.
L’ultima evoluzione della Ferrari Dino fu la serie 246, lanciata nel 1969. Il superbo V-6 fu potenziato a 2.418 cm3 di cilindrata e la potenza aumentata a 195 CV per offrire prestazioni emozionanti con una velocità massima che sfiorava i 250 km/h. Leggerezza e maneggevolezza, furono queste le qualità che fecero della Dino la vettura per piloti esperti, anche se la Dino divenne famosa più per il design senza tempo e volutamente affascinante, così squisitamente Pininfarina, che la caratterizzava. Della 246 Dino furono costruiti quasi 3.800 esemplari negli anni compresi tra il 1969 e il 1974, di cui 2.476 erano versioni GT coupé.
La stupenda Dino qui presentata in versione Guida a destra è uno dei primi esemplari costruiti, in condizioni originali sorprendenti. La vernice Rosso Chiaro brillante è la stessa che la vettura presentava appena uscita dalla fabbrica, così come gli interni in vinile nero. Con soli tre proprietari documentati e 39.900 miglia dalla prima messa su strada, la vettura è stata recentemente revisionata, con una risistemazione dell’impianto frenante, delle sospensioni e dell’impianto di raffreddamento. Il telaio e il vano motore sono stati minuziosamente controllati e i tappetini e il parabrezza sono stati sostituiti. I cerchi Cromodora sono dello stesso tipo di quelle originali, ma nuove e complete di pneumatici nuovi.
Le rifiniture originali, lo stile e la guidabilità di questa Dino sono pressoché impossibili da riprodurre con qualsiasi restauro questa Dino puo dare un tocco di classe a qualsiasi collezione di Ferrari originali.
