10 imperforate horizontal pairs of plate proofs. 6 of the pairs are on gummed and "Star" watermarked paper and include Scott #'s 226B; 227A; 228B; 228C; 258; 260. 4 of the pairs are on india paper on card and include 228C; 262; 263; 264. All are in XF to choice condition. NH. OG on the gummed stamps. Rare in this format. A number of the stamps have hand written dates on the excess large border margins that deserve further research. Scarce group.
