SGD LL and UR. In a period frame. Ann or Anna or Anne Neagoe, nee Anna Frankeul, American, 1894 or 1885 - 1996. From an earlier Ashcan period after which she painted in France. However, the New York Times shows her being born in 1885 and dying at 101 in 1986. She married Peter Neagoe in 1911 making the earlier birth date more likely. Anna Neagoe was an artist, illustrator and writer, part of an avant garde art world in which she knew Djuana Barnes and Peggy Guggenheim, but is poorly referenced today. Dimensions: 10 3/4 x 13 3/4 Condition: good, but slightly looe in stretcher
