INDIANA JACQUARD COVERLET.
Inscribed "W. Craig / Greensburg / DC. Co. IA / 1851". Woven by William Craig, Jr. (his father added WV for weaver after his name), youngest member of the Craig family weavers. Deep blue wool and natural cotton. Double weave, center seam. Top and bottom borders feature menorah like designs, leafless trees and cornucopias; the sides, tiny cows under spreading pots of flowers. Some loss and wear. 76"w. 89"l.

Condition: Overall toning. Wear on edges with some loss on one side. Thin fringe.
