BOSTON SAMPLER.
Dated 1804 and made by "Frances Baxter. Boston April 30th, 1804". Sets of alphabets and numbers including a separate listing of the vowels, over a moral verse surrounded by undulating border of eight-point stars and multi-petaled flowers. A Frances Baxter, born in Massachusetts in 1795, is listed in the "American Genealogical Index". Silks on sheer linen ground. Clean with minor loss. 17"w. 20"h. Modern frame.
