Printing Year: c1870
Condition/Details: Bound in three-quarter leather boards with raised spine bands, this volume is a privately-bound collection of 177 handsome antique prints, mostly original steel engravings, one of which is in color. Many are from the publication Eclectic Magazine, and the diversity of images lives up to that name; the plates include historical scenes, portraits, allegorical and religious images, and a few architectural and landscape scenes. They are all beautifully executed and are fine, strong impressions on lightly age toned paper with occasional marginal foxing. The volume shows some external age/wear and the plates are all intact and many of them are accompanied by period tissue guards. A few of the plates are detached. The book measures approximately 6" x 9.5" and contains 177 pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $4.50
