DESCRIPTION: A large African carved ivory pipe. Cylindrical body carved with seated man smoking pipe flanked by two kneeling figures, elephant tusks, antelope and water buffalo on crosshatched ground. Attached neck with decorative carving and reticulated carving of figures holding bowls at top. Long metal pipe mouthpiece. Overall kaolin residue. MEASUREMENTS: 23" long. CONDITION: Slight separation of neck from body but still securely attached. Interior residue and encrustation.
