DESCRIPTION: Large Kota bronze reliquary figure, Nigeria. Male figure with elaborate arched headdress, open mouth, round eyes, facial scarification. Extended arms, large bowed legs having cast faces at knees and multiple portruding faces. Base with faces and geometric patterns. Remnants of kaolin overall. MEASUREMENTS: 33-1/4". CONDITION: Right hand missing two fingers and left missing three. Two inherent casting cracks to rear left side of headdress.
