Complete set of 8 postcards of costume designs for Mussorgsky's famous opera, issued to benefit the St. Evgenya Red Cross Society and lithographed in color by N. Kadushina, St. Petersburg. Each 140 x 90 mm. Condition: all unused; minor wear. Bilibin designed the sets and costumes for Sergei Diaghilev's very first theatrical production, Rimsky-Korsakov's revision of Boris Godunov in1908. [Together with 2 other postcard sets:] 2 postcards of mythical Russian birds (Alkonost and Sirin), issued to benefit the St. Evgenya Red Cross Society and lithographed in color by Golike and Wilborg, St. Petersburg, 1905.
