1909 Tiffany & Co. Bronze Medal/Medallion of Peter Cooper Commissioned by his Daughter and Designed by Oscar Roty. Circa 1909. This Medal Marks the Life of a Famous Resident of New York City. The face of the medal says: "The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art Founded AD 1859 by Peter Cooper a Mechanic of New York". On the Obverse Under the Woman's Chair is the Signature O. Roty. Oscar Roty is one of the most Famous Artists to Work with Tiffany, Mostly Known for his French coins and Medals. The Bottom Edge is Signed Stamped Tiffany & Co. Bronze with a Tiffany "M" Date Mark and the Top Edge is Signed Stamped Joseph James Slavin. It is possible that These Medals were Sold by Subscription so Each Medal would Have a Different Name. Pristine Condition. Original Tiffany 5th Ave & 37th Street Box.
