VAT symbol A fine and important Pierre Balmain evening gown, 1960, labelled and numbered 124747, the sleek black satin sheath with corsetted, empire-line bodice, superbly embroidered by Lesage with three dimensional flower sprays and leaves in coral coloured chenille and floss silk, silver frisé strip and silver thread, facetted crystal beads in silver and coral, the bodice edge and skirt centre-front with double undulating bands of coral bugle beads and ivory velvet petals, pendant crystals, the skirt sprigged overall with flowerheads, with matching organza backed satin stole, bust 86-92cm, 34-36in (2) This gown was worn only once to a reception at the Elysees Palace

Good condition, lacking the odd bead - but nothing noticeable and anything which has come loose has been kept in a bag with the gown by us.
