1933-41 PRE-WAR COLLECTION: GOUDEYS, DIAMOND STARS

A strong grouping of 50 gum cards from the 1930s up to World War II, mostly Diamond Stars with a handful of Goudey and Play Ball cards. Eight Hall-of-Famers (nine cards) are found in the Diamond Stars group: #50 Mel Ott (VG), #59 Jim Bottomley (VG), #27 Pie Traynor (PR-FR), #77 Charlie Gehringer (G-VG, OC), #66 Ducky Medwick (VG), #28 Al Lopez (FR-GD), #43 Ted Lyons (FR), and two #44 Rogers Hornsbys (GD and VG). The remaining 17 Diamond Stars range between GD and VG-EX condition. Other pre-war cards: a 1933 Goudey #55 (GD) and 1934 Goudey #51 (VG-EX); 22 Play Ball gum cards, all commons, eight from 1939, two from '40 and twelve from the color '41 series, overall averaging in VG condition. A great lot for the pre-war card dealer or collector.
