After the Braves moved to Milwaukee in 1953 they were immediately embraced by the local fans who helped the franchise set several attendance records throughout the 1950s. Regional food companies took advantage of the situation and began issuing Brave-related cards and memorabilia, much of which has outlived the products in which they promoted. Offered are a nice sample of these types of issues. First, 1953 Johnston Cookies, complete set, grades VG to VG-EX. Next, 1955 Johnston Cookies Series 2, complete folder, grades about EX. The last of the three issues, the 1960 Lake-to-Lake Dairies, contains 26 cards with some duplicates, including Hank Aaron, Red Schoendienst (x4) and Warren Spahn (x5). The short-prints are missing and all of the cards have either been stapled, or 'canceled' with a stamp, or both causing the condition grade to be no higher than PR-FR. Otherwise interesting and unusual grouping of local issues that should peak deep collectors' interest.
