24 single-signed baseballs from National League stars from the 1960s - the so-called 'Era of the Pitcher', typified by the 1968 season when Bob Gibson posted a microscopic 1.12 ERA and Carl Yastrzemski posted a .301 batting average, the lowest ever for a batting title. Slugging averages fell to dead-ball era levels. Expansion, lower pitching mounds and tighter strike zones helped alleviate the anemic hitting in 1969. Of the 24 baseballs included here, 15 hand-signed by HOFers: Sandy Koufax (x2), Ferguson Jenkins, Bob Gibson, Willie Mays, Bill Mazeroski, Warren Spahn, Juan Marichal, Joe Morgan, Ernie Banks, Tony Perez, Phil Niekro, Billy Williams, Willie McCovey and Orlando Cepeda. Other National Leaguers with signed baseballs include Pete Rose, Ron Santo, Maury Wills, Frank Howard, Tommy Davis, Dal Maxvill, and more. All balls mentioned are ONL Coleman, with the exception of one Koufax baseball which is ONL White, and are signed on their respective sweet spots. A nice collection to beef up your baseball autograph collection. (PSA/DNA LOA)
