This is an OAL (Ban Johnson) baseball hand-signed by the 1922 St Louis Browns squad. In this era the Browns were still very much in contention with the Cardinals for best St Louis baseball team. The Brownies finished only a game back of the New York Yankees to place second in the AL - their highest finish between 1902 and 1944. Key signature here is HOFer George Sisler, who batted an ungodly .420 in 1922. Also, outstanding pitcher of the live ball era Urban Shocker also signed; Shocker would later find further success with the Yankees before succumbing to heart failure at age 38. A total of 23 signatures grace this well preserved vintage baseball, including that of Heinie Meine, Marty McManus, Ken Williams and manager Lee Fohl. A treasure worth having. (PSA/DNA LOA)
