Now here is an unusual item. Stencil lettering was a trend around this time. Here it is used to spell out THE WORLD CHAMPS '71" along with each of Pittsburgh Pirates team numbers, on a 15"x20" piece of white cardboard. Next to each number is a cut-out paper head of the player, and then their signature. Three Hall-of-Famers: Roberto Clemente, Bill Mazeroski and Willie Stargell, all deemed genuine by Spence Authentication. Signatures range from ballpoint pen to odd-color felt tip (green, red, etc). Only manager Danny Murtaugh has been stated by Spence to be 'clubhouse'. Other Pirate star signatures include: Dock Ellis, Al Oliver, Rennie Stennett, Dave Cash, Steve Blass, Richie Hebner, and Manny Sanguillen. Plus, a couple wives have signed with their husbands, including Mrs. Dolores Stargell, Mrs. Kathy Sanguillen, etc. Total of 38 signatures make up this unusual collage display piece. Pirate fans and Clemente autograph seekers should find this item worthwhile. (James Spence LOA)
