1930s DAILY NEWS BROADSIDE DISPLAY W/ DIZZY DEAN

Sign In to see what this sold for

An unusual offering, an 11"x14" cardboard sign used as a display piece for the Chicago Daily News. This particular sign has a smiling Dizzy Dean on the front, advertising a 'full page of Photogravure' of the great Hall-of-Fame pitcher. The front does display some surface markings, with worn corners; however, the bright red color has not faded a bit and the Dean picture is quite expressive. There appears to have been some sort of Sports tournament (Ping Pong perhaps?) that was recorded on the back of the placard, with brackets and scoring written in red and regular pencil. Very interesting vintage item, great for display purposes.
