An OML (Selig) hand-signed baseball by five different Cy Young Award winners - the only Yankee pitchers to win this award. The Cy Young Award began in 1956 as the award for the best pitcher in the major leagues for that season; in 1967, both the National and American Leagues began issuing individual awards per league. Although certainly many Yankee pitchers prior to '56 probably deserved the award (Waite Hoyt, Lefty Gomez and possibly Ford in '54 or '55) but only these five who have signed have ever won wearing the pinstripes. The five signers, with inscriptions, are: Bob Turley 'CY 58', Whitey Ford 'CY 61', Sparky Lyle 'CY 77', Ron Guidry 'CY 78' and Roger Clemens 'CY6 2001' on the sweet spot, indicating his sixth Cy Young award in the inscription. All five have signed in blue ballpoint pen. A nice souvenir for the lifelong Yankee fan. (PSA/DNA LOA)
