Late Classical Chest of Drawers, Mid Atlantic,
ca. 1840, mahogany and highly figured mahogany veneers over white pine, drawers constructed by chestnut and poplar. Interesting upper drawer arrangement of central short projecting rectangular drawer flanked by convex drawers over four full width drawers, the uppermost a "bonnet drawer." The rectangular top is supported by 3/4 turned columns having acanthus capitols and ring turned base over square plinth raised on foliate decorated paw feet. 50.5" x 48" x 24"

Replaced back, top with shrinkage cracks, replaced pulls, some veneer and carving repairs.
