Two Silhouettes, New Orleans, 19th c.,
the first, a profile silhouette in ink of a young boy with bronzed highlights to hair, verso inscription on backing identifies the sitter as Charles Edwin Starkey (1813-1841) of "New Orlens, (sic) America," In eglomise mat in black wood frame, SS 3.75" x 3," DOA 6" x 5.5." The second, cut profile silhouette on card of gentleman, notation en verso reads, "...by Hubard," and identifies the sitter as "Robert G. Dixon, d. 1839" with newspaper clipping of obituary notice, SS 4.5" x 3"; DOA 7" x 5.25."
