Harvey Dinnerstein (NY, b. 1928), Seated Nude,
pastel on paper, signed lower right "Dinnerstein," a seated female nude, matted and framed under glass. Born in Brooklyn in 1928, Dinnerstein studied with Moses Soyer, Julien Levi, and at the Arts Students League with Yasuo Kuniyoshi. He exhibited works at the Pennsylvania Academy, the National Academy of Design, and the Whitney Museum, among others. In 1961 several of his works were included in "A Realist View" mounted by the National Arts Club in New York City. In the accompanying exhibition catalogue (which is included in the lot) Dinnerstein is quoted as saying "My eye delights in the softness of flesh, the texture of hair...," both of which are sensitively captured in this intimate nude.
