A 19TH CENTURY FANG MALE RELIQUARY GUARDIAN FIGURE, Gabon, the brass mounted carved wood figure with large head with stylized rows of hair braids above a repoussè zigzag decorated mount and with almond shaped eyes, protruding nose, down turned mouth, the long neck over textured breast plates, and hands clasped in front above a protruding belly, and raised on short squat legs with brass anklets. Height: 15 1/2".
