AN ELEGANT LOUIS XV STYLE TRANSITIONAL GILT BRONZE MOUNTED TULIPWOOD OCCASIONAL TABLE, by Antoine Krieger, circa 1880, the shaped oval variegated marble top above a single drawer frieze of guilloche centering swirling parquetry paterae on gently curved cabriole legs with berried laurel cluster mounted hips on single reed cast chutes continuing to scrolling acanthus cast sabots joined by a stylized "H" form beaded stretcher enclosing a circular shelf with three quarter reticulated gallery. Marble top professionally restored. Antoine Krieger, a highly accomplished ébéniste with a workshop in Paris during the second half of the 19th century, exhibited in the 1852 and 1855 Exhibitions in the 18th century 'meuble de luxe' styles as well as modern variations. Over the years the company changed its name several times, later becoming Damon et Cie. Height: 29 7/8", width: 23 1/4", deep: 18 1/2"
