American folk-carved cane with upright handle carved as the bust of a bearded man in tall hat (possibly Uncle Sam,) of a piece with shaft similarly carved with seven mens' busts, above a slogan carved in raised letters, "THE WORLDS WAR / AND DEMOCRACY / 1914 - 1918", the whole varnished over rubbed black paint, 41 3/4" H.
