African American folk art snake cane of mahogany with turned knob head, apparently of a piece with a tapered shaft with sturdy snake carved in relief along the upper half, the snake with inlaid mother-of-pearl eyes, the top of the shaft squared with glass-covered compartments containing printed and penciled words ("Happy", "Mase", Lomoso" and a fourth illegible), 34 7/8" H.
